Wyndham Taos

Wyndham Taos sits on the former property of local community artist Nicolai Fechin, whose next-door residence is now home to the Taos Art Museum. From here its a short stroll to the quaint shops, museums and restaurants of this famous artist colony. The natural beauty of this area surrounds you whatever time of year you visit. In the winter, skiing and snowboarding opportunities are endless, while the rest of the year brings hiking, biking and kayaking through the dramatic landscape. Art or adventure – Taos has it all, with a landscape that is waiting to cast its spell on you.

A visit to Taos isn’t complete without exploring its alpine forests and mountainous terrain on horseback or on foot. Try rock-climbing or hang-gliding or if you’re feeling athletic, put the pedal to the metal for the scenic nine-mile West Rim Trail. In the warmer months churn through the frothing rapids of the Taos Box in a raft or kayak, or try a gentler float downriver in a canoe. Visit the Rio Grande or the Red River for some fly fishing in some of the most promising pools of trout or hike steep alpine trails at the Wheeler Peak Wilderness Area to see cascading waterfalls and the rushing waters of the Rio Hondo. The moment snow starts falling, turn your attention to winter sports. Go snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or race down U.S. Hill on a sled or inner-tube. Taos Ski Valley offers legendary skiing just 15 miles away from your resort. Or drive a half hour away to nearby Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski Area and choose between well-groomed trails or skiing through backcountry wilderness.
